Coinciding with the centenary of Uffa's birth, this book is a collection of 50 designs and writings from five volumes written between 1934 and 1938, reflecting the best yacht designs of these years. Uffa's ideas form the basis of modern boat design. The most important is maybe the planing dinghy. Many of today's classes evolve from his design, eg. the Flying Fifteen, Firefly and the International 14. He also designed canoes, airborne lifeboats used in World War II and a 25-foot power launch.

The re-issue of Uffa Fox's refreshing collection, reviewing such significant yachts of the era (some which still sail today) will be welcomed by all who love boats and the sea. With sailing craft ranging from 14 to 120 feet, there is something for everyone.
